Ruth Kennison is the resident chocolate diva and educator at The Gourmandise School in Los Angeles, California and founder of the Santa Monica Chocolate Society, a bi-monthly chocolate tasting group. Recently dubbed “L.A.’s bean-to-bar chocolate queen” by KCRW’s Good Food host Evan Kleinman, she is among a select group of instructors in the U.S. teaching bean-to-bar chocolate making, and her classes and private workshops are extremely popular with professionals and recreational chefs alike. She is a popular international speaker about all aspects of chocolate and a frequent judge for chocolate awards.

Her tasting workshops are lively educational experiences and guests will learn where chocolate comes from and how it gets made. She’ll share fascinating facts (with colorful images) about chocolate’s history, its importance in today’s food world, and offer plenty of delicious samples to taste.
