Mama Buci ("Mother Honey" in the Bemba dialect) gets its unique flavor from the pollen collected from the rich and diverse forests in Zambis, Africa. Local families care for thousands of beehives, which are ethically harvested twice a year, Winter and Summer, each with its own unique flavor profile as determined by the active flora at the time of harvest. Established in 2008, Mama Buci works in many towns and villages of Zambia, using a co-op system to compensate fairly those who watch the hives in exchange for a share of the honey.
