Wilkin & Sons DAMSON PLUM Preserves 12oz

Damsons have an unusually sour taste when raw, however once they are cooked with sugar they give this conserve a deep and tangy flavour.

The Wilkin family has been farming at Tiptree, Essex, since 1757, and today the business is run by Peter Wilkin, great grandson of our founder. Our fruit crops include strawberry, raspberry, loganberry, mulberry, blackberry, morello cherry, rhubarb, damson, Victoria plum, greengage, quince and the curious medlar. We believe that we are unique in the world in growing this difficult crop, but it is worth it for its depth of taste. Our fruits are all still hand-picked and the farm is LEAF Marque accredited (Linking Environment And Farming), ensuring that we farm sympathetically with our environment and encourage links with our local community.
