This sweet treat, made with sugar, almonds, honey, and egg whites, is a beloved French delicacy. Nougat's predecessor, "nugo", can be traced back to ancient times. The modern recipe for nougat was concocted in the 17th century in the small town of Montélimar, located in Provence. To this day, Montélimar remains the global hub for nougat. With a multitude of nougat variations, this particular version is a traditional soft white nougat.
