This distinctive sparkling red, made from Frappato grapes and refermented via the Martinotti method, takes its name from the vineyard’s southwest-facing exposure. Crafted by Giuseppe Romano of Horus—a small, certified organic estate near Acate—this wine reflects both place and pedigree, drawing from the same terroir that has shaped icons like COS and Occhipinti. Though still building his own label, Romano is widely regarded among Italian wine professionals as a pivotal figure in elevating Frappato's reputation, and his latest vintages continue to show increasing depth, precision, and promise.
