SMALL SARDINES IN OLIVE OIL 4oz
We have never tried a sardine more delicate and mild than those of Galicia. They are harvested in small batches from the cool waters of the Rias, tidal rivers in north western Spain. Serve with good bread and a glass of white wine, or add to a fresh salad.
Each sardine is carefully prepared and packed by hand in olive oil. The result is a tender, mild sardine, with the delicate taste of the sea but without any strong fishy flavors.
The seas off the coast of Galicia in Northwest Spain are cool and rich in nutrients, making them an incredible fishing ground. Conservas de Cambados is located close to one of Spain’s largest Rías (estuaries), known as the 'Ría de Arousa'. Their facilities are very close to where the seafood is harvested, so they are able to use the freshest fish and shellfish available.
Canned seafood from Galicia is considered a gourmet treat, and is usually more expensive than freshly prepared fish. In fact, the longer the sardines remain in the tin, the more tender they become.
